It is with considerable sadness that we announce the passing of our long-time member, Rich White-Smith, RPCV Malawi, 1966-1968, Peace Corps Response, Philippines, 2011.
Rich died Friday morning, February 7, at Albany Medical Center, 41 hours after suddenly becoming very ill. Rich’s life partner, Jan, and his son, Morgan, were by his side. Jan says that the staff at Albany Med was beyond magnificent and Rich had a peaceful death.
Jan will still host the June RPCVs of NENY meeting, to which she and Rich had previously committed. The meeting will be a celebration of Rich’s life.
Few people were more of a champion for the Peace Corps and for service to others than Rich. Click here to view Rich’s obituary and read where you can contribute in his memory.
