Janet Witbeck (Dominican Republic, 83-85) has been named historian of the Town of East Greenbush.
Details are here: http://eastgreenbush.org/from-the-supervisor/557-supervisors-report-through-1312013
Congratulations Janet!
Kim and Chris Anderson hosted our June meeting at their lovely home in Ballston Spa.
Kim presented on her recent trip to the Dominican Republic. Her trip was sponsored by Fair Trade Towns USA and led her to cacao, coffee, and banana farms.
Chris offered tastings of organic free-trade chocolate products, vino de cacao, cacao marmalade, and free-trade Dominican coffee. Yes, they were all delicious-though some thought the vino de cacao was “too sweet.” For more information, visit the Mango Tree Imports, Andersons’ store in Ballston Spa.
Thanks to all who attended and for the Andersons for hosting us. Check our calendar for upcoming events.
